ABOUT
Christopher is one of the founders and the joint Managing Director of Terra Law LLC. He advises clients on a wide spectrum of legal issues on both contentious and non-contentious matters. The range of matters includes commercial litigation, company law, landlord and tenant, property-related claims, contentious probate matters, arbitration and mediation, corporate advisory, transactions and compliance, and employment and immigration matters.
He co-heads the firm’s real estate practice, which has particular strengths in corporate real estate and collective sale projects, acting for both vendors as well as developers. The team has advised on over 50 collective sales projects and has successfully transacted more than 18 such projects with an aggregate value exceeding S$4 billion.
Christopher has almost 3 decades of top level legal practice experience. He is a Fellow of both the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and Chartered Institute of Arbitrators. He is also an accredited associate mediator with the Singapore Mediation Centre and Singapore Law Society Mediation Scheme. He sits as an independent director of an SGX main-board listed company and has been recognised as a Senior Accredited Director by the Singapore Institute of Directors.
Outside of legal practice, Christopher chairs the School Advisory Committee of a Government Secondary School
WORK HIGHLIGHTS, representing:
- HPL Subsidiary Luxury Peak Pte Ltd in acquiring Concorde Hotel & Shopping Mall, with the sale price of S$821 million making it the largest collective sale of 2024.
- Owners of successful collective sales including Shenton House (SGD 538 million), Tanglin Shopping Centre (approx. SGD 868 million), Maxwell House (SGD 276.8 million), and Gloria House (approx. SGD 70.3 million).
- Both majority owners and dissenting minority owners in several real estate collective sale applications before the Strata Titles Board, and on appeal to the High Court and Court of Appeal.
- The estate in a Will Trust against a beneficiary on whether the gift (a property valued at S$7 million) was a valid charitable gift.
- A co-owner of a property in a suit before the High Court against claims that the joint-owners hold 69.25% of the property on trust for the Plaintiff; alternatively that the Plaintiff be declared an equitable tenant-in-common of the property.
- The vendor of a property against claims by the purchaser of alleged unauthorised structures and alterations to the subject property.
- Owners for the privatisation of Braddell View, one of the oldest and largest HUDC development in Singapore, comprised of 920 units.
- The owner of a property in a suit before the State Courts of Singapore against claims by his neighbour for direct and consequential damages due to water seepages.
